So would it be wise to run two? I have an FMIC and oil cooler temps get kinda warm with that giant air restriction up front.

Thats why I run the PWR off road series with dedicated fan on custom oil systems over here. They run around 500$ for the cooler and shroud and fan. They work awesome all that is need. Also run this cooler on the 20B applications.

I am going to experiment and try some of the porchea designs on both oil and water cooling. in an effort to try and free coolers up from being stacked in the center. I think this will optimally yield in smaller coolers all around, however this is also doe to the design having am much greater fluid capacity.

500 dollars is too much for a cheap guy like me, I'm into this for 90 including fittings extra braided hose and mounts. And as it turns out they will both be ducted to get fresh air without significant additional restriction to the radiator

How about this. I just got a mocal oil cooler for dirt cheap. I'm going to add a large fmic to my FC. I'm wondering if its better to just run the new mocal instead of the stock oil cooler and maybe mount it in front of the fmic if possible or some place on the sides where it can breathe. OR run with in line with the factory one. I think it would be more simple to just replace the system with the mocal but wanted you guys' opinions. I figure the mocal one is newer, better designed and should out perform the stock cooler.
I plan to get a oil temp gauge for all this when I do it.

The stock cooler is a pretty good one, and huge compared to almost every aftermarket cooler out there. Unless the new one is at least as big then I wouldn't bother, unless you're running it in addition to the stock one.

I believe our 20B FC also has them bypassed, but the owner has an external oil thermostat on them now - I need to confirm this with him.
Simple way is just a nut and a bolt to plug the hole up.
It doesn't really increase the oil warm up time - the oil gets plenty warm in a hurry.
hIGGI does run a GReddy V-Spec FMIC kit in front of everything.
I think it was designed more for emissions purposes - Mazda tried to use all kinds of "tricks" to get the engine to come up to temp quicker (i.e. pre-cats, etc.).

Prior to running just one oil cooler, our 20B FC on the track was hitting 210F...220F+ easily.
With the dual oil coolers, it's stable at 200F now.

I run them in series and as far as i remember, i kept both thermostats and it works just as it should......temps dont drop below 60-65 which is the range of the t-stat.
Btw...2 oil coolers mod is quite necessary for all our drift FC's....
