Exclamation Drivetrain Performance!!!

Lol sorry i needed a catchy title but you all are worried about horsepower and bodykits. well Does anyone know of sites on info on how to tune and what to look for when buying parts for my drivetrain.
From what i understand swapping ur final gear with a smaller gear will increase top speed but lower acceleration correct?
I also figure that Swapping my differential with a 1.5 limted slip will increase handling and traction but will it loose accerleration or gain it?
Is there anything for transmission to perhaps a new set of smaller gears for acceleration?
and what about the drive axle>?

heheh i think some forum members would be insulted by that :P

yes a lower final drive/gear ratio will give you higher top speed (if your car actually has the power to reach that top speed, but most likely not) and lower acceleration...good for gas mileage and road trips . some people have swapped in higher ratio rear ends (4.3 from a GTUS vs stock 4.1 or 3.9 in verts) to increase acceleration at the cost of mileage, top speed, and ever so slightly more wear and tear on the engine .

with an LSD, your everyday driving acceleration should be relatively unchanged. however on a hard launch (or any time there would be traction problems like...wet, or on gravel etc...), you would be better off with an LSD since your car would be grabbing with both rear tires instead of just 1. the traction would help you scoot off better, just make sure you know how to handle it if your back end breaks free entirely so you don't shoot yourself off the side of the road/track etc...

i'll have to let someone else answer this part, i dunno where to get custom gears for the tranny. i do think that you can use gears from different rx7 transmissions though, such as 3rd gen 5th which is taller giving higher top speed, or a GTUS 5th which would give lower top speed but more power/acceleration in 5th.

I've heard of guys swapping in GSL-SE gears to increase performance. That's all I know on that subject though.

Axles don't need to be upgraded unless you are making some SERIOUS power (probably 500rwhp+)
