drive w/ split air tube not hooked up?

i recently replaced all my emissions stuff onto my 88t2 and want to take the car for a small drive around the block and my question is: is it ok to take the car for a little test drive with out the split air pipe hooked to the cat? oh yeah and i dont an airpump yet so the ACV is open too is it ok?

The cat will die faster than usual with no air supply but a quick drive around the hood shouldn't wreck it. Dunno about the other part.
