Also, did you end up notching the frame rail to fit the turbo?

I hope I'll end up seeing 7-10 psi after my intercooler on my street ported block, I wonder what a little porting will do for a boosted six port rotary.

Once this motor finally lets go (180k miles, it oughta go soon!) I'm going to go pretty crazy with the porting, probably along the same lines as Aaron, and maybe a 50 shot to help a little down the line.

I really appreciate all your effort to post all this valuable info. I just got a check for $1000, but since i'm a college student i probably won't be able to start my project up until the coming summer. In any case, I would like you to know that there are some people who really look forward to your progress, so don't let the haters get you down.
Thanks

This thread is great, in 2 weeks I'll have the original S5 NA engine that came in my vert and i plan on a rebuild/port/boosted project. Should be interesting.
Hey, where is aaron and how is his project going?

Aaron seems to be MIA on this thread after posting his teaser. I'm still working on the supercharged GTUs project, just waiting for my brother to get out of jail to finish making my damn intake manifold.
Damn, 10 pages. We're all a bunch of post ******.
On topic, does anybody have any secrets on cheaply keeping an eye on intake temps? I want to see what I'm running @ my TB elbow, and I don't have a whole lot to drop on the project.

ambient temp gauge for volvo, but stops reading @110 so may not be useful
digital oil temp gauge off ebay
the key is to find something that has a small probe that won't have too much thermal inertia, and remote thermometers (digital or analog) seem to have thin probes like the high $ intake temp gauges.

buy a digital thermometerwith a probe for baking stuff from a home goods store. probobly <$50. make a pin hole in the elbow, stick in the probe, seal it with silicone, put the readout somehwere on the dash. viola. ghet-o intake temp sensor.
so now you will need a "home depot racing" and a "betty crocker racing" sticker.

I'm just curious as to how hot the air I'm pushing is, since I've only got the starion for an intercooler. Regardless, it seems the cars going to be stuck in the garage a few more days as I'm broke and my coworkers talon is torn apart behind it.
