**** man 95mph in the 1/8th is enough MPH for 11's in the 1/4. and an 8.2 is definitely 12's in the 1/4. probably a 12.75-12.85.

what do you have controlling your fuel?

I wasn't running lean, I was running rich, I've got a wideband mounted on my gauge panel, I was at 11:1 the entire time I was limping down the track, if it would've been anything higher I would've cut it off. She was definatly moving before the IC hoses blew off, I'd guess high 12's with how it was running. I also didn't get a chance to put the 3000GT tires on, so I had to run on the vert bbs rims with some cheap-o tires from walmart.

I would think that blowing a intercooler hose would fool the ECU into pig rich.
Lots of metered air not going to the throttle body.

BTW I think Ive blown every one of my hoses lose at one time or another. Now I always inspect all the connections close and replace hose clamps if needed.

My piping seems to be the issue, the beads just aren't large enough, so I'm replacing all of it before the next run (and the dyno time coming up soon).

you never said what you're using for fuel.

?? i want to know what kinda fuel you're running to support a 12 second pass on high compression rotors, and what is controlling it.

I think he was referring to octane. If I had something a little better (100+) I would've probably ran 14psi and tuned the s-afc a bit more (considering i have NO corrections right now over 4K rpm, and I run 10.5:1 from 5k-7k). My car is running HORRIBLY, which probably is part of the reason why my turbo is taking so much longer to spool. From when I first drove the car (and had corretions in for the lower RPM range to keep it in the 11.5:1 range) I could spool pretty damn early, now I've got quite a fair bit of lag since I removed all the corrections for the strip (just wanted to be safe since I haven't had a chance to hit the dyno up and do a full load run)

Did you put the car on the scales at the track? 95 mph traps is absolutely redicously fast for a stock turbo/ecu car without any weight reduction, even including the higher compression.

mid 10's under full load isn't awful. I have my car running mid-upper 10's right now to combat the high intake temps I'm surely experiencing with the stock intercooler.

11's

This almost makes me scared, or very anticipating, my turbo'd n/a job. I'm in the process of doing a big port and rebuild with ported exhaust and putting in an aluminum flywheel. Already have an array of other things, makes me wonder what I could run with a turbo and 10-12 lbs of boost, hmmm curious

he said that his IC hoses kept blowing off right past the 1/8th mile mark so his 1/4 mile times were with him coasting half the track.

PROPS! Nice trap speed.

Note to self:
Invest in a case of Hose Clamps.

Great results! Finally, I have someone to support me in those turbo-NA 1/4 mile flame threads...

One must remember that the intake ports close much later on the 6 port housings then on the stock TII plates, the higher compression not only makes a little more power, but spools the turbo faster...

As for your pipe beads, how do you have it set up so far? When I did mine, I ran the welder around the edges and then used cheapie hose clamps. No problems with blowing hoses. Though my new setup is using the much nicer T-bar clamps which don't conform to odd shapes as well...So it looks like a tailpipe expander is in order to clean up the ends of my piping a bit.

Damn SonicRat! Just the motivation I needed to go ahead with my N/A-Turbo. BTW, you might wanna consider getting some better intercooler and turbo plumbing (like some hard pipes if you don't already have them ) as well as a BOV (if you don't already have that).

Well, keep in mind my car *IS* lightened, as I said, it weighs about 2600lbs with driver, so that helped out a lot. I've got 2.5" exhaust piping as my intercooler piping, but the beads just aren't big enough, I'm going to replace it and try it again. I expect about a 12.7 or so out of the car. I've got a greddy type-s bov on it. The car was quite the sight to see, the roof was primered white, the rear bumper is black, the car is gold (champaigne), the hood was red, the fenders were grey. It was pretty damn funny. We just slapped it together in 45 mins to get it to the track.

I've pretty much got the same weight reduction as 88IntegraLS, just I don't have anything left behind the dash, and i had no interior/etc. It was an '87 Sport to start with, so it wasn't heavy to begin with.
