downsides to just have a straight flow exaust
I kinda just wana have 2 pipes running straight out of the side
currently I am just running a X pipe out the back with 2 hollowed out mufflers
I would have to wire the ports but whats another reason not to do it?

Its gonna be loud and sound like an air plane. Its not fun. I dont mind loud cars... but I dont want my car to sound like I'm bouncing 9k when I'm only at 1.5.

If you don't mind going deaf then it's gonna be fine. I had a RB dual header to dual straight pipes to a single Apexi N1 muffler and it was intolerable for me. People could hear me coming like a mile away. If you don't get a header it might not be as bad, and going with duals should make it quieter as well. You can always go back to stock too.
