comon guys? you never rev match ? You must ride REALLY rough rides...
rev matching allows you to downshift without slowing, or jerking the car..
once you learn your car... you don't need the tach
you just feel it...
no math needed.. Just listen to yer car.. She'll tell ya what to do! at least my seven does![Smilie](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
double clutching, I imagine, would help slow the wear on your synchros for everyday driving
But that would be gay as the day is long..

I agree! i am able to down shift and upshift without my passenger feeling it! but i mean how often do you drive like that!!! lol we all have the need to step on it!!! especially those turbos!
But yeah i agree that listening to your car until you are totally at ease with driving it correctly is the best thing you can do!

Well, I used to step on it all the time, and blew my old clutch b/c of it. Doing it taht way WILL thrash your tranny, but briskly taking it through the gears and back down, revv matching all the way, and you will have a clutch that serves you well, and lasts for a god while. Baby your clutch for the drive to work, thrash it Friday nights....that's my rule!!

why not rev match, especially if u are downshifting for a turn. double clutching may not be advantageous but is fun as hell and like rico said just go and drive until you can downshift from any gear at any speed and not disturb the passenger. smoothness is everything, but for straight line racers i gues it doesn't really matter, it's just with a fc corners are so fun

I don't get straight lining the FC. These cars were designed for cornering. Yeah, hittin around a ricer is nice every once in a while, but the real spirit of the FC3S is captured on a lonely country road, winding off into the purple haze of the distant horizon, clicking the shifter from gear to gear, listening to whine and purr as the numbers on the tach ebb and flow as time itself does. Feeling one with the machiene and the sky and the road. Finding the soul of the car that it is not merely a horseless carriage ment only to willingly haul you to your destination, but as a livng thing, that has a soul and a spirit and a name. Then getting high off of all of the exhaust fumes and gas smell cuz you removed all of your emissions.
