Door lock bar.....explaination on the inside

Ok here goes nothing....

I recently had a lock from a junk yard rekeyed to fit my key, as my 88 TII had no drivers side lock when i bought it. When my friend and I removed the door panel we found out that we were missing a very vital piece. The one we need is the bar that connects the back of the lock...(the part that the key actually spins around (it sits vertical) ) to the other bar that actually moves the lock up or down (which sits horizontal)....needless to say i was upset....we went ahead and installed the key cylinder...which was fun...(yes thats sarcasim) and ghetto-rigged a coat hanger in place of the bar....it worked!!!!.....at first, but now the hanger is all stupid and has come a bit loose to where it wont keep the door locked....which sucks....I figured i would just go to the dealership and see how much that would cost...cause if it doenst cost too much then screw it right....but i know the dealership WILL screw me cause they want to make as much money as possible....does anyone have that piece out of thier parts cars.....im gonna check the local junk yard, but the only one i could get a lock at was like 30 min away....anyway sorry for the long post and if anyone has any suggestions or know of a place i can buy this piece please respond before i go and waste money i dont have....

p.s. this is what the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated!

Sheesh, gotta help out a brutha I see....

I'm going to a pic a part wrecking yard next weekend.

I'll pick one of those up with the plastic clips. I'm sure it won't cost much, if anything at all. PM you your address and I'll just send it to you. Buy me a beer at next years 7Stock.

However, in the mean time, look around the bottom of your door. I'll bet you a bag of potato chips the bar simply fell off since it was hanging loose otherwise.

I put the door handle in my bro's 7. He was missing the bar. Made one out of a coat hangar. wrapped the end with electrical tape to make it the right dia where the plastic clips grab it. Seems to have worked. It's been there over 6months.
