Dafuq did I read?

Are you trying to say that you bought a car, tried to put an engine in it, then realized that there are different connectors? What is the year of the donor car that supplied the engine? What harness are you using? What ECU are you using? Are you aware that there are two different series of the 2nd generation Rx7?

Here's a useful link:

yes sorry i forgot to add that part its an s4 engine from a 87 coup base model in a 1990 convertible i used the 87 motor, tranny, ecu, and harness, the guy that i bought the vert from had a bracket for a ford v8 but never finished it and when he sold the s5 motor he cut the harness in the big thick line of wires right above the fider well leaving me optionless iv done lots of research and a friend helped me with part of the electrical problem using alldatapro.com but i cant afford that and he cant help me anymore so im stuck

if you need more info let me know i can try to get pics but the vert is a beautiful car and i dont want to take out the entire dash like people have been suggesting me to

Oh jeez, you've forced yourself in to a world of hurt. It's not just a cross-series swap, but cross-series, coupe to convertible swap!

Page 31 through 33 in this .pdf file shows the ECU pinout for S4 ECUs.

http://www.rotaryheads.com/PDF/2nd_g...systems_na.pdf

Here's the S5 ECU pinout, pages 81 through 83

no i got the ecu done all i have left is the plugs that come off the harness, i am prolly digging a whole thats not worth digging but i didnt have much options after i bought the vert... life would have been simpler if he wouldnt have cut the harness and jus disconnected it from the engine but, i jus need the wire ID for those two plugs that come off the harness before the harness reaches the ecu

thanks again for the reply i really do apriciate it

What the hell are you talking about? The wiper plug? The cruise control module? The CPU? Which plug?

IIRC, one of them is the connector between the front harness and engine management harness.

http://www.rotaryheads.com/PDF/2nd_g...ng_diagram.pdf

Pages 82/83. I can't remember what the other one is. Maybe someone else knows off the top of their head. Take a picture, maybe it'll jog my (or someone's) memory.

Might be 2 plugs that both go to the front harness. Maybe the knock box. My 88 convertible doesn't have a knock box, so I don't know where it's located. Take a look at page 105, it shows better detail.

read AGreen's link
last Paragraph of Number 10.States:
.........
This is the only really proper way to go about this swap, install the different block but keep all the original wiring/manifolds/control systems that match the chassis. There is more info elsewhere in the tech section about specific parts to swap.
