Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
The undercover goes from the lower front of the bumper to around the oil pan. It is manditory for getting proper cooling as it forces the air that enters through the grill into the oil cooler and rad.
Running without it will make your cooling system work much harder. Maybe if your cooling system was factory new and clean...
It can be done (driving without it), but I wouldn't recommend driving without it and the first sign you have about the engine running above normal temps, put it back on.

Ambient temp was about 30 i'd imagine HeffBoost as thats what it is all year here (not being silly, it's true.. only thing that changes is humidity) but my car has been used in all sorts of conditions like this, long highway high speed driving, circuit racing, cruising around. Never got too hot at all. However my cooling system is allways in very good condition, as is the rest of my car, so that could be one reason it doesn't get hot.
I am going to make a new one to put under there though as I now have a FMIC up there so I figure any extra bit of cooling helps.

well I had to take it off and was falling apart and dragging on the ground. I want another on to go back on. I dont want to gamble with it cooling right rather be safe than sorry. It will be fine for now since it is winter and only like 20 degrees out.
Anyone serious about swapping a rear deck lid black for a skidplate let me know. I know there are some people in hear that would pay up to $250 for a rear deck lid. I have two of them muhahahahaha both are mint

I would recommend that you put the "brush guard" back on your car....People up north may not notice it but down here it is almost impossible to run without one. The temps are always above normal running temp and when the AC is turned on it jumps to atleast halfway or even higher when a brushguard is not installed. (during summer) --Gabe
