Does this Sunroof Seal look right?

I had my car painted and the Sunroof seal disappeared. Got a new one but I remember it being flush with the roof line and sunroof when the sunroof was fully closed. Thats my memory, but the new one is quite a bit rececessed. Is the right??? BTW, new seal is Mazda OEM.

Hmmm...I appreciate the pic. Thats how I remember it being. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?? It should be a no brainer just putting the seal grooved portion on on the sunroof outer edges?

Looks like I'm a stooge. I had the felt portion facing inward instead of out. Duh

i just replaced my sunroof, and painted the sunroof panel. i cant seem to get the seal to stay on or stretch complety across the back of the panel. Any tricks? Sorry dont mean to highjack this thread...just thought it might be a good time to ask

So the seal was inside-out like an inside-out shirt?

I think you were doing what I was doing because that was my problem. Try a different approach with the felt facing outward. Hopefully yo can see the felt in the picture. My stayed on once I did that with no gap in the back.

I still cant get it just right on the car. Some of the felt shows so Im try to fix that.
