Does this Flywheel need to be resurfaced?

Does this Flywheel need to be resurfaced?

I know you're suppose to resurface a flywheel every time you change the clutch but I also hear that if there is not much wear on the surface that you can just use Emory paper.

I just took off my flywheel because im doing a clutch job and want to know what you guys think of the wear on the surface and if it needed to be resurfaced or not.

Never been a big advocate of resurfacing a flywhee if it's in decent shape. Just clean it up with some brake clean/acetone, hit with a scotch brite/emory cloth, clean again, install, and never a problem.

Having said that, as long as the flywheel is removed, I don't see any reason not to have it resurfaced. Just make certain they take the same amount off the flywheel surface and PP mounting surfaces.

I would get it resurfaced. I put one in looked like that and it slipped bad when shifting in the higher rpms..

Its worth the little money and peace of mind to have it resurfaced. unless you enjoy removing it more time, and waiting to drive your car,while you do it the right way.

Looks fine to me, you can still see the marks from where it was resurfaced before (the swirl marks). Just hit it w/ some paper and go with it.

If the runout is in spec I usually sandblast the surface to rough it up. It works for brake rotors too. Just make sure you thoroughly clean it afterward.
