i seem to have freeplay in my wipers, when you have the wipers on it wont go all the way down, but you can push it up and down the extra 2 inches with your finger. with the wipers off and all the way down doing about 80 mph the wipers creap up two inches and over 100 mph they'll creap all the way up straight. you can still flip the switch and the'll go back down but slowly creap back up.
i wanted to know if this is a common thing that happens to people and what the fix is?

My old car did this, if I went any faster than 75m/h they were 1/4 up the window, I never fixed it because I got a new shell, and it's not doing it on this one, but I imagine that it's worn linkages.

I had the same problem on my '87 Sport.
What is the status of your wiper switch? Has it ever been replaced or rebuilt?
After swapping in a rebuilt switch my wiper "creep" problem went away completely. I would think that if you have a faulty wiper switch, the wipers are unable to return to the fully off position. This would cause them to be farther up the windshield when not in use and thus more susceptible to drag, particularly at high speeds.
