If your responsible enough to do the required oil changes and not rocket around town the RX can be a good car for you. If you do plan to get an RX then get the S4. They are modern enough to not look funny or heavilly dated but they are old enough to find parts cheaply, including engines.

Good luck, and don't get in over your head.

bought my TII when i was 15 and have yet to have any real trouble with it. Just make sure you have a friend or parent that can drive you to the important places (work and school) when your car is down because it will be down at some point.

i bought my first fc when i was 16 and when i was 18 the light switch caught on fire and i had a electrical fire inside the car, that sucked but i loved the car, so now i have a s5 n/a with a s5 turbo motor and i love the car, the car catching on fire was kind of my fault cause the switch would smoke every once in a while and didnt bother changing it( like a dumb ***) and 1 day the damn thing caught on fire, but other than that i really didnt have any problems with the car

My first car was a FB....it was a S3 GSL-SE....ran great, it wasn't too fast but was fun to drive and life was good.
Then the voices in my head started telling me my car wasn't the best because its not much faster then your average civic....and I had a job and had save up a nice lump of money, so I sold my FB and bought what I though I REALLY wanted...that was a S5 TII. I still had money left to save for repairs, but **** that...time to start upgrading(..thats a 17 year old for ya) but the clutch blew and I had to buy another one slowing the upgrading, and I got over my head trying to do too much myself. Right now my car is not running and news a new clutch (which I have)
Moral of the story...don't bite off more than you can chew. A N/A FC would be an XLENT choice for a first car IMHO. Its not too fast...very easy to work on....simple and strait forward. All while offering good handling and being fun to drive. And you won't break the bank buying one, so you'll have money to fix **** and you won't feel so bad when you break something.

I did a complete tune up on it and it has 160k on the odometer. I paid 1900 for it and I'm in the process of getting it completely restored. It's going well. I suggest you think about what car you seriously want. I've been through like 3 cars now and before I got the FC I thought a lot about what car I really would like to hold on to. So after making money from buying and reselling these other 3 cars, I started with 900 and after those cars im up to 2100. I look for a FC and I finally find one that's pretty nice. Just make sure you get the right car because if you don't you'll regret buying it. My advice is to just wait until you find the perfect one and you've saved up enough. Good luck, bye.

if teh car checks out good after these three things, check for rust. Looks under the body etc. Also ask questions about if the owner has ever had the exhaust worked on, if its not. thats more money in your pocket, because you're gonna need to replace those catalytic converters. Make sure the horn, heater, warning beep(when you take your keys out, leave the lights on, it should beep),temperature control(for heater and A/C), check to see if the A/C works(it probably wont), if it has a sunroof, see if it gets stuck. if everything works, and the car looks okay, Go for a drive! drive the car soft at first, so it has time to warm up, then ask the owner if you can drive the car somwhat hard. It should have good pick up etc, and it should NOT smell like gas.
If everything checks out, Negotiate! Do a good job doing this, and bring up all the low points of the car.
I say get that N/A FC, but keep it maintained.
Youll be quite satisfied if you get a good one. my car has 171k on it and it's still running strong. It's made trips from california to las vegas and back, then from southern california to washington state. then washington state to northern VA, Then from northern VA to orlando florida and back. It is quite the great car.
