Thanks man I appreciate the positive feedback. I know on n/a's it's usually a damn good Idea and has some really good results however I'm not quite sure with it being a turbo an the air is already going to be hot when compressed but hopefully not quite as hot with the cai.

yeah and it's way smaller so it doesn't get in the way of things either. i wish someone would make an adapter or something for our afm's.

which way is "flat?" I know this works but is it killing power?

when they say flat they mean with that black part of the afm point straigt up or the waffle part on the other side.

Great! It's a great new way to tune S4s! Just rotate the AFM to decide how far lean or rich to go! Right? . . . Right? :-p

Seriously though, that CAI looks cool, but I doubt it makes much of a difference, as everyone has stated :/

I think it may make a small difference. The colder the air starts out the colder it ends up.

You guys need to learn some simple thermodynamics before posting on this subject. Temperature is a fairly direct measure of the amount of heat energy something contains, so if outside air has less heat to begin with compared to engine bay air, it will still have less heat after passing through the turbo (adding more heat) and intercooler (taking some away). Pretty obvious.

As an example, the decrease in air density (and hence oxygen available for combustion) resulting from heating air from 70degF (outside) to 120degF (engine bay) is ~5%. That's free horsepower there for the taking, not to mention addtional resistance to detonation. Considering how upset some people here get about the extra 20lb from a dual exhaust system (less than 1% of the car's weight), I'd think you'd be spitting tacks over losing 5% of your power...
