The FD filter is mounted in a different location, and has connections that point in the wrong direction, so it'll be a huge pain to fit. IIRC they use the same size fuel line, so they'll flow just the same and is not an upgrade. Just get a stock replacement, they work fine.

FD pump > TII pump, at any rate.
but if you're going to do that you're going to wish you got something else later on anyway.
which is why i sold my fd pump.
I do not understand that chart. At 0 psi, it flows 72gph? and at 100 psi, it flows nothing? or are those two points not useable?
'splain, ted.

"0psi" is the free-flowing flow rate with no pressure - basically, you measure the flowrate right after the fuel pump outlet with nothing connected.
The 100psi is called the terminal pressure, and you plug a pressure gauge at the end of the fuel pump output and read the gauge. Nothing is flowing, and you're just measuring the max pressure a fuel pump can output.

The Walbro 255lph high pressure fuel pump is an excellent upgrade for the money. You got a BRAND NEW fuel pump that easily supports OVER what an FD3S stock fuel pump can do. Why spend money on a USED fuel pump that doesn't support as much? The Walbro unit will also run the engine richer due to the high flow capacity, and this might save your motor. I had my wastegate line *fall off* my turbo compressor housing when a bunch of my friends were driving it. The telltale on the 60mm GReddy boost gauge showed 17-18psi of boost peak. I credit the Walbro for keeping the overly rich mixture, or I think the engine would've been toast. No, there was no hint of detonation - I do have a J&S Safeguard installed also.
If you get the FD3S fuel pump free - sure, go for it. Else, I wouldn't spend money when I can get a Walbro.
What did you think I meant?

Yeah, I know a new Walbro will be better than an FD pump, but I'd hardly call a 300hp fuel pump "junk".
You could just as easily argue that a Walbro is a waste of money for a sub-300hp engine if you have no plans on exceeding the FD pump's capacity. In that case it makes better economic sense, even if you include the cost of a pair of new hose clamps for the wastegate line, just in case...
