DIY lip, FREEWAY/ROADSIDE LIP
this goes out to all you DIY lip guys, any car, home depot u name it. well heres my version
LOL so i was driving on the freeway, and kept seeing what looked like a lip on the side of the road, so finally after a week of driving past it i desided to pull over and pick it up.
The lip was really wide and appears like it might of been part of the bottom or top of a newer truck bumper or some suv.
So i cut the lip in half with some terrible hand tools. then i drilled some holes and cut some pie wedges out of the sides to mold it around the bottom fo the bumper better.
the end result, doesnt look too bad kinda looks like the odula lip with out the 2 holes on the outside...
NOTE: its not finished i just over laped the mid section, didnt have a good saw, so i plan to cut the center and bond it together so the lip is the correct width. but heres a test fit. also i had some problems getting the driver side to line up corectly. need to mess with the mounting holes a bit still.
enjoy!

Nice.
I like seeing stuff like this.
Kinda like what 87t66 said- All one color and center fixed would make the car look alot better.
If you craigslisted some used agressive sideskirts, or extended your current ones (with some cardboard and fiberglass shaping ).... it would look even better.
Nice work.

from the looks of it i belive its off a ford explorer (mid 90's) but driving around today and looking at the cars on the road it might also be a f-150, winstar or even a durango...
*edit- scratch the explorer. im pretty sure its the f-150, google 02 f150 images and check it out

If you got the whole front end of your car molder together and painted one color it would be pretty cool.
Or, you can go for the frankenrotor look and start melting on other parts and road debris--but if you are going for the "art car" look then you need to commit to it.

lol it was just a test fit on that car. that car was 100 dollars origionally, and has been my gutted out,/racecar/ parts hauler for a while. never really poored big money into anything on the car its allways been the cheapest deals i can find on things...
its final resting place is on this 89 black covnertible where as at least that lip is painted the right color for that car. still needs a bit more pie wedging to get it to truely conform around the curve of the bumper but i havnt had time still to get it done.
indt take the best pictures this time... had a big truck parked in the front lol.
