DIY block off plates?
I have searched on this subject for a while today and have found a few sites where you can order block off plates like k2rd and I think nopistons but everybody seems to be back ordered on them.
I was wondering how hard is it to make block off plates. Out of what material do you make them and what tools will be required.
On an 87' TII I need 1 for the ACV and 1 for the split air pipe.
Thanks for any help.

Strange, I just ordered plates from K2RD and got them within 4 days. You can easily make them out of 1/16th metal, just cut the rough shape out, use a dremel or grinder to define it (use a gasket as a guide to trace onto it) and then drill your holes and be done. Me and my friend usually make our own, when we're not feeling lazy
Edit: I got a ACV, Split Air, BAC (all for a TII)

Backorder? I got some a couple days ago from k2rd. Took like 5 days to get here. I got a AVC, BAC, Split Air, and already had a EGR.
Not that hard to make. Get a sheet for 1/8 inch aluminum and make them out of that if you don't want to buy them.

Well I live in San Jose and K2RD is also in San Jose. I called them and said I could pick them up but they said they are on back order. Maybe the guy just didn't know what he was talking about.
SonicRAT, what do you use to cut the metal. Just a saw?

generally I use just a hacksaw to get the rough shape of it, and go from there. You can use whatever you've got available, it's pretty easy to grind it into a smoother shape afterwards.
