disabling NA fuelcut
I'm going to be running s5 internals soon and i need to know how to disable the fuel cut (i think its around 7800 rpm on my car) do the latter (88?) ecu's not have it? because i could have sworn ive seen s4 dyno's that go to 8100ish. Thanks.

I hear that most people's rev limiters are broken - and that's the nice thing about going to a crane cams ignition or an MSD, you get it back (along with a couple miles per gallon and reaction)

there are many people who belive that the stock internals will hold up fine to high rpms ( I am one of them since i had a bad 3rd gear for a while some times i would rev up to 9 or better) the only problem is that with stock ports you can't flow enough to make power much past the redline

The FSM also states a 6.5% allowable error for the tacho, so it might be reading 9050rpm before hitting it.
I still don't see how it's possible to "break" a piece of computer coding. I reckon if you've never hit a rev limiter then either you aren't revving it high enough or there was simply no limiter in the first place.

what are your mods? is your power band shifted that far that you need to rev that high? a stock s4 starts dropping well before that
or you just jealous of the s2000

so how'd you know you went to 9k? do you have an aftermarket tach, cuz the s4's only go up to 8k

anyone in an s4 that doesnt have a fuel cut care to tell me what number is on there ecu case? motor/car is apart right now but its going to be a ported s5 motor w/ clearences suggested by mazda comp. I've allready got a racing beat flywheel in the car, and besides that the plane of destruction for the flywhere on our car is infront of the firewall. Only thing im really worried about spinning it that high is that i do not have retained rotor gears. anyone know someplace that will do it cheap?
