probably get flamed for saying this in a post but if you take out the glove box there should be a box and if you unplug that clip (long clip like 16 pins I believe) it will disable the alarm system.

edit: good luck stealing that car, lol.

I just got a new driv side handle to replace my broken one. Installed it, 15 minutes later the factory alarm is going off for some reason. The alarm never went off before--I guess I inadvertently *fixed* it.

You may have forgotten to attach the wire to the lock cylinder.

s4's, unplug the gold box under the glovebox.

s5's, unplug the wide white plug from the top of the cpu behind the drivers side kick panel, the black box that is tall and skinny.

Now, I can steal any RX7!

Hell, most owners probably haven't even cleaned their key holes so that only their key will work...

HINT... HINT...HINT...

You know rx7s are easy to steal, lock-wise. However, nobody in their right mind will do so, because even if you can turn the ignition, there's no guarantee the car will start anyway.

I recently bought an FC and when I got there, the owner didnt have the keys (it was at a garage, and they were closed already). I went ahead and towed it home, but had no way to steer it once it was unloaded. I found my old key ring full of old FC keys, from my days of parting out cars. the 4th key on the ring turned the ignition on.

Yeah, I never used to lock my car. I don't have anything in it to steal. If they want to steal it, as in drive off with it, GOOD LUCK!

On S5's, unplugging the wire from the alarm module in CPU will not completely disable the alarm. In addition, you will disable the horn. Unplugging these wires will only prevent the horn from going off and headlights from flashing. The headlights will still pop up and the parking/tail lights will flash.

So there is no possible way to disable the stupid alarm without giving up your horn? And you still have to deal with the fact that the dumb alarm will still trigger your headlights and silently flash lights?

I swear there is a wire you need to ground to disable the alarm, the wire is different between s4 and s5, see if satch chimes in, he'll know exactly what wire

Yeah that's what I'm trying to figure out for my S5. That alarm is always going off for no reason. As long as I can lock the door I am happy.

Sounds like the cpu board could be your problem. You could try grounding the Green/Yellow wire at the hatch switch but this only helps in some cases.

A similar issue used to happen a lot on my car. I made it a lot better by clearing the electrical contacts on the door locks.

I solved my alarm problem by installing a battery cutoff switch (https://www.amazon.com/BATTERY-CUTOF.../dp/B001HSBW74) and using a pre-fabbed 52" battery cable with lugs on each end. Connected one lug to the bell housing and the other to the cutoff switch. Sometimes it's a PITA, but it solved my problem with the alarm going off in the middle of the night and draining my battery. I left the original cable intact, just in case.
