Direction of Rotation

Sorry for the dumb questions but I'm new to Rotaries. Does the engine rotate clockwise or counter-clockwise when looking at it from the front of the car? The car I'm looking at has no battery and I want to do a compression check, but I don't want to spin the engine the wrong direction.

Thanks,

pbshow

The engine would rotate clockwise from the front. Notice that the intake is at the top left and the exhaust is on the bottom left from the front angle.

Good luck. I would suggest stealing a battery to test it though.

how are you going to get accurate readings by spinning with your hand?

Yea it spins clockwise looking at it from the front. You can also tell by looking at the fan.
