Depends which mounts you're talking about. A lot of the companies listed above sell full bushing sets.

i just got the MMR kit off Ebay. i was curious, do you people just run bolts through them?? im really not sure how to do the motor mounts?? what stock parts do i keep on these?

I just ordered the MMR mounts Friday morning off ebay too. I guess we will get some opinions soon. I did almost got the banzai ones though. Then I decided if I wanted to spend more, I would have got the AWR motor mounts nobody has mentioned yet. Match those with banzai tranny mounts, and for the diff... I don't know. Maybe put in the ford 8.8 diff with the kit from grannys so I don't have to decie on diff mounts Not in the budget now though....

My old Y blocks were faily saggy, and the crossmember bushing is guaranteed to be dead. Apparently they go pretty quick. Next time I'll see about carving up some hockey pucks or something to go into the crossmember in place of the crappy stock bushing (it's not solid).

Ah, so those Y blocks are the transmission mounts? I thought they were something else. I'd imagine to replace the crossmember bushing you just have to replace the crossmember itself then.

Yep, the Y blocks go between the crossmember and the tranny. To replace the crossmember bushing you buy a new crossmember, hence my idea about replacing it.

Alright, good to know those y-blocks are the trans mounts then. I'll be buying a new crossmember when I replace all the mounts also. So far, it seems my best bet will be the MMR mounts for their pricing and performance. OEM is going to be too soft and expensive, and MAZDASPEED are another option for me. The Banzai mounts don't seem bad, but they are expensive, and are probably even stiffer than the MMR mounts. The Himni mounts are out of the question because they're solid steel, and from the looks of the AWR mounts, those are going to be pretty damn solid too. I want stiff, but not headache causing stiff. So, here's what I'm thinking:
Motor mounts - MMR
Y-block transmission mounts - MMR
Transmission crossmember - Mazdatrix
Front differential mount - MAZDASPEED
Rear differential mounts - MMR
This entire set should probably cost me around 300 dollars shipped to my door. Not too bad if you ask me. Is there any other things I should be replacing at this time? Suspension bushings will be a later thing when I work over the suspension system.

Well I wouldn't be so sure about those MMR mounts then, since you say you don't want it too stiff, since that's some really solid plastic they're using. It'll be just a hair better than a metal mount. Nowhere near the compliance of rubber or even urethane.

They can't be seriously that hard to where they would be only slightly less rigid than a solid metal mount. Maybe I should just go with the MAZDASPEED mounts. The Banzai and AWR mounts can't be that much less solid than the MMR mounts either just from looking at their construction. They use solid metal plates with polyurethane in the middle, so I'm sure they're pretty damn solid too. The Himni mounts are for sure solid metal though, I do know that. OEM are obviously going to be too soft.

That's decently stiff, and you can deflect urethane without too much effort by hand, you can't do that with plastic. While I don't have any personal experiance with these mounts, I have experiance with similiar plastics, and they're stiff.
With the Mazdaspeed ones, there's very little metal and lots of rubber. Also with the plastic ones there's a continuous rod through them, connecting metal to metal the engine and tranny to the car. The Mazdaspeed ones have seperate studs cast into the rubber, providing a 100% rubber layer between the two.

Kinda simular to what I have but without the crossmember, I'ma using the stock bad boy.
Motor + tranny = Banzai
Front diff = Mazdatrix
Rear differental mounts = MMR.
I figured that the vibrations wouldn't be as bad in the back with the MMR mounts.

Btw, I got my Banzai stuff second hand new for $150 total shipped, front diff for $100 new and the MMR stuff for $45, that's about what you paid for your proposed setup. I think it's viable.

My setup is 300 dollars including a brand new stock crossmember. If I changed to the Banzai motor and transmission mounts instead of the MMR ones, I'd be looking closer to 400 dollars.
I still can't imagine even with the MMR mounts being hard plastic that they'd be much stiffer than the Banzai or AWR mounts. The Banzai ones have two large metal plates on each side of them, and the AWR mounts are mostly metal too. I know for sure the MAZDASPEED ones are a good choice for me too since they won't transmit much vibration at all, but I just want something that's decently stiff. I'm sure the MAZDASPEED ones are stiff, but I'm not sure if they'll be stiff enough.
This is the toughest decision I've had to make about the car yet. I know my setup would be pretty stiff, but I'm just not sure how stiff. I've had people say that they're setups were so stiff that the interior would rattle pretty badly and even at idle the car would vibrate. I don't want anything that bad.

Get whatever you feel would be the best at this point, you seem to be hard person to satisfy in this context. I see it as: If you want the world from your car, you have to pay for it.

Banzai Racing
Our mounts are adjustable, if you do not like how the car feels you make them stiffer or softer. Polyurethane is softer than polyethelene or ploycarbonate. Another thing to keep in mind is that all-thread rod stretches this is why we do not use it.
