Differential Mounts?!!?!?!?!?!

I believe my diff mounts are bad because when I start off wrong the car starts bucking really bad, I just changed the u-joints so I know its not that, and have heard that differntial mount failur is common in our cars. just wondering if both of them usally go out or just one front or rear, I noticed there both expensive but the front mount is $117 the rear $60 So I was wondering if I could get away with only buying one???
Also I heard that if you change one mount you should change them all, is this true??

I'd make sure the mounts are bad before changing them. And as far as I'm concerned if say the left one is bad I'll be damned if I'll change the right one if its good. I found that the front one can be checked by raising the rear end up off the ground in a safe manner and start the engine and put in second gear. As the wheels turn have someone tap, I said tap, not stomp the brake pedal. While looking at the front of the diff you should be able to tell if the rubber is seperated on the mount because if it is the front of the diff will rise up and tap or knock against the floor of the car. Check the left and right mounts to see if the bolts are loose and the rubber in tact. Usually if the front is bad you'll hear and in fact feel a knock on the floor as you accelerate or step on the brake.

Yep I think the front mount is bad because I can hear something nock the floor if I don't start out right, I'll check it tommorow is it a fairly easy fix if I get the new mount?

Is it easy to fix? Well I have done only two. On the second one I wished I had died and gone to Hell. Wasted the better part of a saturday. If memory serves, I ended up loosening the diff and dropping it down a couple of inches and unbolting the left side of the subframe just to get to the attach nutz for the mount. In fact I think I droped both sides of the subframe a bit to get the mount out. Thats one reason I'll never jack a rx up using the bottom of the differential. Won't do anything to strain that little puppy. Too much trouble. Yeah. Go for it, just remember that the mount bolts for the front mount are just a touch hard to reach. Piece of cake. If thats the one do not waste good money on the other two. A hundred twenty bucks is enough to throw away.

Then its probably not the mounts then. If it was you'd see the nose of the diff rise up sharply as the brakes were tapped. And TESLA, I think the manual does have you jack the car using the diff. The point I was making is that if you have ever gone throught the replacement of the front mount at a hundred twenty bucks a whack, then one pauses before using it as a jack point. I'll go out of my way to avoid replacing another one I use the hard point just in front of the diff. Solid. No rubber to seperate. In other words I have no idea how to fix the original question if it was not the diff mounts.
