differential drain bolt question
my car is an 88 turbo, the differential drain bolt came out with the treading, so now i cant put the bolt back on.
I was thinking to get a thread repair kit for it like a heli-coil, but i cant find any big enough. So my question is what would be the right way to fix the stripped treading, or should i just get an oversized bolt.

It would be tough to find an actual helicoil kit or time-cert kit in that size, and if you could find one they would probably cost an arm and a leg, but sometimes you can find single thread repair kits geared towards fixing stripped oil pan drain plugs. Maybe one of those would be the right size? I'd hit up a couple local parts stores and see what they have. Around here they seem to go for about $20/kit

I don't know the size of the plug, but I'm sure it would be easy to go one size up seeing as the housing is aluminum. Just pack the flutes of the tap with grease and go to town. Then fill the differential up with some oil and flush any shavings out.
