Dashpot or not?
Do s4 n/a FC's have one or two dash pots? I know the bell looking thing under the intake tube is a dashpot, but what about the other bell like device behind the alternator? When I replaced my alt and was screwing it back in, the dashpot looking thing was getting twisted around.
Good? Bad? Remove it?
The FSM states its a Double Throttle Diaphram, and from what I can tell, opens the throttle plates with vacuum.
Is there a cetrain way it should be sitting?

The rear dashpot just keeps the throttle from slamming shut.
The front diaphragm just keeps the mechanically challanged from going WOT on a cold engine.
The only problem is the 3/8" coolant circuit that works the thermo-wax module that works the diaphragm.
That coolant hose bend under the UIM is out of sight & out of mind until it blows.
