Talking Dashboard Fitment

Would an s5 vert dashboard fit into my s4 hard-top? Would any s5 dash fit in an s4? What are the differences (if any)?

I would really like to convert my interior to black and I've found a black s5 vert dash for cheap.

Cheers,
Cody

I can't think of any reason a vert dash would be different. In both verts and non the dash is completely under the windshield so it shouldn't be affected by the top-off option.

s5 dash in an s4?

What about wiring and electronics? I know that some of the connectors changed when they came out with the s5. Has anyone swapped an s5 dash into an s4 with no issues and/or modifications required? Does it simply bolt/connect right in?

Thanks

you would just have to use your old dash's wiring harness and idiot cluster, then either paint your cluster surround black or cut the clock reset bar and flip the plastic cover to use the s5s.

The verts have an extra reinforcement bracket welded at both a-pillar locations which might interfere with the coupe's dash "skeleton" but I'm not 100% on whether they will interchange.

If you find that the s5 dash won't work, another option would be to do what I'm doing with my s4 Vert.....use a vinyl aerosol dye on your old dash. I have a friend in the shoe repair business and he uses Meltonian products for leather and vinyl, and he sells the small cans of it to his customers. You can get the stuff online in the big cans. It took 2 big cans to get 2 coats of it on the dash. Here's a pic of the re-dyed dash. Notice the glove box lid is less glossy than the rest of the dash. I used a different brand of vinyl paint which didn't adhere as well and as I said less gloss:

I found a pic of the corner reinforcement brackets I mentioned earlier. Look in the upper right corner of the pic. You can see the 2 mounting bolts for the dash. The coupes don't have the bracket, and may have different bolt spacings, but again not sure:
