Yeah, they can get brutal in the DFW area. I have seen some monster ones in Fort Worth (near Pascal High School) that could easily take out a diff mount.
As for the ride high, I run whatever it is that came with my coil-over kit, which I believe is 1.5" drop. It is a bit of a PITA because it can be hard to find a jack that will fit under it. On the upside, the inspection people can't see under my car to notice I don't have a cat.....

Never underestimate TxDOT. Basically, they were too cheap and lazy to put up a proper median.

ok i had my car up on the lift today. an looked at the diff but all i saw where two mounts that bolt the diff to the body is this the cause of the clunking noise?
