You dont have to let it sit for that long. I just keep cranking it and leave it for a minute or two and she starts back up. I havent had a flooding problem in a while now i got a starting problem. Car cranks for mad long before it starts sometimes 10+ seconds. If i hit the pedal 6 seconds

Not to jack this thread but about a couple things we are discussing here:

I have an S4 and it always works to put the accelerator to the floor when my car is flooded.

And also, sometimes my buzzer goes off around 4500 rpm. Does this happen to anyone else? It seems like if i am driving it hard, it goes off at 7k, but if im accelerating not at full throttle it happens at 4500. Is it supposed to do that? Its almost like saying "hey you probably forgot or something but if we dont need to get anywhere fast you need to shift."

edit: Oh and sometimes the buzzer comes on earlier than 7k even if i am at full throttle.

Before I took the car to the job, my father oiled the cable under the hood wile I was moving it. I floored the car many times (when engaged), and every time the gas pedal stayed a short while on the floor.
In my job's parking, I took a look at my rubber carpet and it had a some wear. So I moved it a bit and went to work.
I did the same process on my way back home as the one I did on my way to job, and the gas pedal reacted very well! It sticked to my foot whenever I released it!
I'll just be gentle with it (no downshifting ) for about a week and redoing the test here and then.

Btw, I have an S4 and never got any issues with flooding.

Oh, and I really reached 8000 rpm, the needle couldn't go any farther and it hold it for like 2-3 seconds. I can agree the stock tachometer is not that accurate, but there's still a limit don't you think.

meh I pushed my S/C S5 to 9k rpm on accident when doing a quick burn out...little did I know the instant boost would zip the rpms up there...have also sustained it for a second or two during a show off burn out...never hurt the motor damn fuel pump :'9

I have pushed S4's way past 8grand drifting.

It helps you unflood it with the throttle wide open because you have the throttle plates wide open. Hinse how you unflood a carbed motor.
