damn--- i love turbos

I just got finished test driven an '87 turboII--mi 102,000
The car overall is in good shape
the only problems are:
1. the clutch sticks
2. the car seems to want to die every now and then unless i give it full throttle
3. The oil pressure gauge either doen't work right or... The oil pressure goes up under full trottle very slowly up to about 58psi then will drop back down to about 35 or 40 psi...might be a oil leak problem(definetly not good for turbos)
4. all the warning lights come on when it is "dying"(not dead) and then go out when it regains itself... it will just bogg down when i gave it gas.
5. then transmissoin needs some minior work.
6. shifter needs new bushings.
7. Not sure if i had a boost leak or if turbo gauge just desided to work now and then...didn't feel like it cause it kept me in my seat!!!

over all the car seemed to run ok and look pretty good
the previous owner seemed to take good care of it.
The used car lot was askin 2995 for it ...but mybe with a little of my good wheelin-n-dealin I could get it down to 1800...maybe!!! should i buy it or let it go
tell me what ya'll gurus think!

ps I currently drive an '87 NA converted part way into '90
and a '90-partin out into '87...'87 is my daily driver and the '90 just a parts car--
I am goin to school fulltime work part time and have very little spendin money- need some to kinda hold for the future.
I'm in new orleans LA by the way

sorry for the length

Your luicky. I paid $1000 to ship my TII down here. If there was a car like that here it would be gone overnight. I say bargin best you can and buy it. Ive spent tons of time and money and lots of blood and sweat and its all worth it.
GET IT you lucky bastard.

I would have to say GET IT!!! I bought my 1987 Mazda Rx7 Turbo II for $1,000.00 and it had 184,000 miles on the orignal engine and it still runs strong. I've smoked a number of cars with it. It only needed brakes done, struts and shifter bushings. All in all, it was worth buying it. I just got my 3" downpipe from Racing Beat & FCD that I will be installing this week.....10PSI here we come!

its sitting on the expressway on the westbank...it in front of this car dearlership just before you get to the Mazda dealership.
Its next to this chinese restaurant.
the color of it is burgandy!
I've desided not to get it though!
Rather put the money into my N/A and make it faster!
It's in better condition i believe!
