Custom reverse cowl hood

Custom reverse cowl hood
hey guys im making a reverse cowl hood to fit the second gen evo style, im making it from a stock second gen hood that way fitment is not a problem and the latching system wont be a problem.....then venting is going to be from fiberglass but the rest will be stock....so not too much of a weight reduction but the fitment will not be a problem at all and for the agressive look and getting rid of the heat wil be great......and if i can get enough interest and i have been on this forum for a while and im sure when i get the finished product and a pic up there will be plenty of people that will want to buy then i could possibly make something all fiberglass or CF...and for those T2 guys maybe I could do something esle as well considering not everyone has a front mount. I love second gens and i know they have some sick potential and all the good stuff costs thousand of dollars from japan and im sick of seing second gens riced out with integra tail lights and nasty bodykits from the 80s....i swear i saw something on here yesterday with integra tailights and the thing was a pine green.....for the integrity of the brand and for our cars and for our wallets i want to make something tight and not too expensive so im aiming for 400 a peice for the first few i make compared to the thousand dollars from japan.....so gimme some input and when i get some more progress ill post some pictures......i also plan on making something similar to the east bear non pop ups using something similar to the BMW angel eye headlights for about half to two thirds the price...so guys just gimme some feedback and lemme know what you think...thanx
the hood will something similar to the one in the pic on these third gens......just mix the two together and thats what i plan on and what i have so far

...94% correct.
we don't really care without pics of actual products with prices...otherwise it's pretty much wasting our time. Make a prototype...show us some pics...give us a price...and we'll prolly buy it because it's different and neat. Until then it's kinna pointless cuz all you're really gonna get is "how much" and "when" responses.

well look at the pic on the last post....price 400 bux..simple as that....i wanna make it for my car but im not gonna be cheesy and put a custom hood on my car with everything else stock...i have too much respect for my fellow FC owners not to rice it out unless i have some other obvious mods......but i have that ghetto photoshop pic...so you make the judgement for the price...im not trying to take orders i just want an opinion and some support for motivation for those hard times when ur glassing and u forget to take the gloves off when ur takin a **** and realise ur gloves are resined to ur *****.....u know the hard moments where u ned to remember whos behind you...lool....lemme know guys...

On a realistic side... If you make one and name a price, eveyone here will probably try to low ball your price in which case it won't be worth it or you'll have a list of people who want one but only a couple follow through. My advice would be to make what you personally like for your own car. If anyone sees it and has interest in it they'll contact you and then just deal with them on a one at a time basis. You'll save yourself a lot of time and effort.

That's because for $550 one could buy another more exotic looking hood.
anyway an angel eyes headlight kit would be bad as **** but can you make it work and, as everyone else said, how much and when. heh.

For 400.00 I would buy the hood shown in the second picture assuming a quality job. Not Maybe, definitely. With the reverse cowl you neeed to be concearned about clearing a strut bar. If you get a prototype done, You can Email me at cbyck@attbi.com. if the quality is there you have a sale. Carl Byck
ps be sure to start with an aluminum, not steel hood.

yo loool.....the pic i got off the net just for screwing around and using for GhettoShop to make a demo of the hood...the vent on the other side i have no idea.....i think it keeps the battery cool that way w get more power to our hybrid powered 6 cylinder rotary engines....and about how much and when....well i should be done here within the next few days and ill post some pics and its basically first come first serve.....im not trying to mass produce to make a business out of this.....just a hobby that i think i can turn into some cash while gettin some appreciation from my fellow rx7 buddies....so it wil be one at a time....ill keep i short list i guess....and about the angel eyes kit...shouldnt be too long..maybe a few weeks....i think that would be killer.....and price probably between 3 and 400....i dont see any reason they should be some crazy *** 800 dollars....and the design is pretty simple....so ima work on it

hey guys....a few days away now....the shape is looking good and i wanna post pics but i dont want to until i have the primer on at least ...dont want it looking naked......but its on its way and looking good and lookes better than my shitty photoshop without the the thing in the middle....its straight accross.....and i put it on my car to see about fitment once i had the general shape and it will easily clear a strut brace and all i am doing now is just the finishing touches before lying glass on the other surface and then primer..........and someone mentioned a steel hood...now this thing is somewhat heavy to get around and i dont think even with the stuff i put on there to get my shape that it would be that much heavier than the hood i have on my car.......cuz i have to give some grunt to move this thing around and when i swiched hoods to see how it looked on the car i could pick my hood up with one hand.....so i assume its the aluminum hood that i have and the heavy one is the steel.......damn thing must be armored....so i know everyone must have picsw must have pics but im just updating before i decide to put my first impression up......so until then...peace
