cruise control

help!! my cruise control stopped working on my 88na. when i set it and take my foot off the gas, the car slows, the rpm's drop, then after a moment, the tach jumps to about 3k, and then cruise shuts off as if i had tapped the brake pedal. A couple of times after this has happenned, about 10 min later car would be on cruise, tho it wouldn't say so. i had to tap the brake a couple times to kill it

any ideas?

The cruise control is controlled by a vaccuum line coming from the TB. Check to make sure the hose isn't cracked or broken.
