Yay for ancient threads.
Back in the days I had a 66 Stang, I popped the hood and pulled out the rotor from the distributor (two clips and the cap is off, two clips and its back on, without the rotor).
My 'vert just has a decent alarm system, replacing the factory one; but that is as far as I am willing to go.

hey....there is alarm that Mazda put in the new Protege mazdaspeed.....it sounds crazy, like somebody is trapped in the vehicle and needs help (it hunks a horn without that old alarm sound ...beep, beep, beep...)
My buddy has it on his protege.....now that alarm will turn heads, and wake up dead.....

Easy antitheft: If your car looks like ****, no one is going to take it.

It depends on where you live. If you live in a liberal **** hole, like california or new york, im sure you would get sued for macing some scumbag. Here in texas we carry concealed handguns, with the right to protect our property, lives, and the lives of others.

Aye, Texas is great... if someone so much as touches your car in a manner that is suspicious (IE, you catch someone trying your door handles repeatedly, attempting to get in) you can use lethal force. You can also use lethal force on anyone that invades your property.

Then you call the cops and tell them to look for the guy with the clown hair. The end.
Too many bugs bunny cartoons for you!!!! lmao

I heard a pretty funny idea for an alarm. It was something to the effect of using a dual stage proximity (the ones that have the "warning" zone then the actual alarm zone) For the first zone have the sound of a pistol's slide be cocked. then having a small laser pen on a motorized device move around to give the appearance of a red dot sight on a pistol moving around. I thought that was a pretty cool idea.

As far as installing a theatrical fog machine, U should know that u need some serious power to run the heat exchange unit & to keep it hot while the car is locked & sitting(at least 600watts). As far as the mace idea, My buddy used to install high-end security stuff & used a pepper spray dispersal system in his business building. It was extremely effective but would've been better with a recorded message stating "nerve gas release detected" or something. This system was not "illegal" but the local police required that a tag be put "onfile" for emergency responce crews ect. With a proper warning sticker and audio warning U could probably avoid nasty lawsuits unless U live in CA.

I have all of my audio equipment (amps, subs, and cd deck ) installed with one way security screws. They are really cheap and very effective. The only real expense of using them is buying the tool to remove them. Not just anyone can by it either you have to run the order to buy it through a repair shop or a construction company of some kind.

It's probably already been said but the best/Most afforable anti-theft device is you have a hidden fuel pump switch and you have a removable steering wheel. It's about $50 for the quick release hub and another $50 for a nice, knock off mazdaspeed steering wheel. That will beat any security system.

Scratch that idea. All of these ideas really will only keep honest people honest, and semi-honest people inconvienienced. If someone really wants your car, they're going to get it one way or the other.

My fuel pump cut switch is in the rear cargo section, drivers side, there is a little flap on the lower back side. My switch is behind the flap thing. Not designed for anti-theft but effective. No one would find it. The cops even missed it when they totally searched my car.
