if thats the case, decelerating in gear makes far worse damage..

The old ecu is a standalone, meaning the whole harness ecu ect.. are aftermarket and are not interchangeable. i can't just simply "put the standalone back on" plus I sold it..lol

Well, obviously you're getting too much gas when you crank it over, that or there isn't enough spark to ignite it (not as likely)
Too much fuel would be:
Too large of injectors
Bad/leaky injectors
Too much fuel pressure
Too much duty on the injectors during cranking (not adjustable on the stock ECU and thats what we're working with)
You said it runs fine when it runs, no? Or did my mind just insert that itself between reading and replying? Because if it runs fine, we can eliminate having timing thats WAY out to lunch from probably causes.
I'd try a fuel pump switch first. Thats goign to narrow down the list of possible fuel related problems. If you can flood the car, shut the pump off, crank it and fire it up then flip the pump on....I'd begin looking fuel pressure and injector size. If that doesn't work, I'd begin looking at leaky/dirty injectors.
I'm having some fuel delievery issues during startup on my car as well. Every ******* problem you have my car gets. Are you my long lost borther or something???

I don't know about dry starts. I used to have my fuel pump wired up so that while cranking the motor, the pump would be off and the motor would start on the fuel pressure that is in the lines. Usually there was no fuel pressure after about 30 min, I had leaky metal fuel lines. a second crank would start it up no prob. This worked out excellent with my old engine that flooded without this little wiring job. Now I have a diff motor and I have the pump wired up the way it was from the factory.

yeah I don't know.. i was told you could... I just find it hard to believe that the car won't even start with the T2 ecu... I mean how much more fuel could a T2 engine need to start??

you know, it could be a bad injector, i had one stick wide open on my S5 TII, and it was a bitch to start, caused instant flooding, what kind of shape was the harness in? was it britle? have you messed with the intake mani yet? casue if i remember correctly you are using S5 N/A intake right..... if so could be a hella bad vaccuum leak on the 5th and 6th ports...

The harness was pretty brittle. I reloomed most of it. The intake was removed and repositioned 12 times now. I replaced the gaskets and used a thin layer of RTV. I have been removing it as 1 peice since.. I have also replaced the injectors. It must be wiring related. I bet this T2 harness I have was total ****. Imagine that I got burnt using the FS section on this forum again..

i think that would be one of your best guesses on fixing it. ^. or like you siad try to get anouther harness, wich sucks, but is doable, def thinking its the wireing though. old britle harnesses dont bend well, and was prolly crammed in a box when shipped to you.
