Unhappy crank angle sensor

i own a 1986 mazda rx7 it has set for about two years, changed everything wouldn't start so i bought a book and found out it had a bad thermostat and that is why it got parked but it never overheated. here is my problem it won't start i check leading and trailing coils good then i checked the crank angle sensor and it tells you in the book that it ohm meter should read between 110 to 210 ohms which it don't it is about 2 ohms on the ne 1 and 2 and on the g1 and g2 and now here's my problem how do i change that sensor when there is no mark on the pulley to line it up with pointer?

There should be a red and a yellow mark on the pulley. They are there, although the paint may be worn off.

crank angle sensor

ok i know it's bad and look for the marks and there is none there so i got another one and someone told me that as long as i mark the old one and put the new one in the same way that there shouldn't be a problem with doing it that way is that true ?

I just went through the timing issue with my 86 GXL. If you looke VERY closely at the pulley lip nearest the water pump, you'll see the marks. They look like some wimp tried to mark the pulley with a punch or something . I looked and looked at mine and couldn't find them until I got another pulley and saw what they looked like. Then they jumped right out at me!
The pulleys are keyed (one offset bolt) so you can't put it on wrong.

Good luck,
Cory
