Couples questions on ACV
i just removed my air pump and ACV, thanks to the search button, with no problems (well, we'll see once i start the car). now i got a couple questions, when i removed the ACV i saw the intake manifold check valve underneath it, a honeycomb looking thing with a suction cup type bowl on the inside. is it necessary to remove this from the engine block before i put on the block off plate? here's a pic of it on the car, and it taken out/me holding. pretty sad, my cell takes better pics than my 4 year old camera, but anyways:

and my second question is about the two electrical connectors that are left after taking off the ACV, both were connected to the ACV - do i wrap these up in elec. tape and leave them hanging there next to the alternator or should i do something about them. thanks guys.

Pull out the disc.
Just secure the orphan plugs out of the way.
BTW on an S5 you have to have the solenoid coil or a resistor plugged in to avoid an ECU error code.
The S4 ECU's don't care.

Since the check valve sits flush, I'd just leave it in- it's extra protection from pressurized exhaust gases blowing by the block-off plate. Your choice, though ![Smilie](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Make sure you isolate the power wires from the switching & port air solenoids (if you cut the plugs out of the way), or you'll have some arcing and sparking going on
