Couple RX-7s i've been looking at, opinions wanted
here is my situation. I have around $1200-$1700 as of now. A few months back, my dad asked me if i wanted him to help me buy it but i told him no and i wanted to buy it myself, but after looking at some cars, i think a few bux wouldn't hurt but feel kinda bad about asking my dad for money so the most i want to get out of him is like a couple hundred. I've been really iching for an RX-7 latetly and i'm pretty confident i want one, here are some that i can get....
87 RX7- It's $700 and has timing problem and 142500 miles
85 RX7- $700 and not much other info about it
88 RX7 GXL- $2900 only 71000 miles
What do you all think? I think the 88 one should be the best buy due to its low milage and good condition (or so it says), but its just slightly out of my reach but i could ask my dad for the money. ANY input would be greatly appreciated and getting me closer to becoming part of the RX-7 family.

well for 700 you could get the 87 and then buy a j-spec for around 1300 be 2000 total. Would all depend on the condition of the body, interior and drivetrain.
The 88 might be a good buy but i'd be sure to check the compression on the motor.

Do a compression test. And read this http://fc3s-pro.com/TECH/h2b.html
