cost of a TII swap?

I'm going to probably have to have a rebuild done soon, but I was just wondering how much a TurboII swap would cost. I searched around a lot, and found lots of good info on how to do it, but not so much on costs. What are the estimated costs for the engine, rear end, tranny, and all the other goodies I would need? And what would labor fees run around? I'd do it myself, but unfortunately I just don't have the time anymore to devote to a project like this.

motor and tranny- 1200.00
exhaust- 300 to 600
rear end- not needed for the swap (you should eventually do it)
ecu- 75.00
afm- 50-100
downpipe-100
tune up and fluids-100
pressure sensor- 30
walbro fuel pump- 100

(these are all estimates, prices may vary but not much)

i think that just about covers the parts
use your n/a harness
labor can vary, but i would think around 500.00
i know your busy but if i was you i would try to d it myself, either plan a weekend or 2 saturdays or some thing, if not probably like 500.00

for those of you who have done this swap as well feel free to add anything i missed

if i were you i would look for a blown t2 donor car for $500-$1000 and then rebuild the motor. its going to be cheaper/easier in the long run.

Whatever you estimate, add about anouther $1000-1500 to it, and another 3 weeks. Thats about the real cost. Its not as bolt is as everyone says it is, and there are always small nickel/dine problems that come up to bite ya in the a$$.

That sounds a lot easier than trying to swap everything in....I'd follow his advice.

well i did the series turbo swap and so far its been apretty penny

motor/tranny-1300
engine mounts trans mount y blocks-about 180
waterpump-about 180
ecu-about 90
seals and orings-about 150
hoses etc-100
throttle body-80
fixed radiator-50
front cover-60
fuel pump-60
i still have to get more hoses etc etc...

its a pain in the *** having to drive back and forth for parts but opefuly itll be worht it

mazdatrix could raise a family with the money ive spent there.
Ebay will soon become your best friend

its a pretty big project not to mention wire splicing and some customization but so far its been pretty fun i recommend it

i dont think its fair so put down water pump, throttle body, rad, front cover, seals and orings, for the simple fact that when you get your motor from japan it has all of this, you obviouly have a special case,

you do need 2 heather hoses ( i left that out)

well.... mine.

now image you only start off with a block.

2300 for a t2 block.
400 for complete driveline
250 for wideband 02 sensor.
400 for a useb bnr turbo, with downpipe and manifold.
1100 for haltech and 2 1600cc injectors
500 for FPR, lines, and fittings

save yourself around 5 grand. i got good deals where i could, so yeah. you also run into allot of problems.

No, you do not need new motor mounts, but they are usually trashed and need to be replaced.

I got out way cheaper than you guys.

Seriously, search around. It can be done for less than 3K super easy. For me, less than $2500.

S5 car is way cheaper and easier than the S4.

I have everything needed for a S5 swap in the garage waiting for the right body.

Plus some.... (seriously you have enough parts that you could sell it all and buy ANOTHER FD....)

Yes, but it is cool having all of this. What else would I do with my time, or what would I sell to my customers needed parts when we build their motors. Got to get on two 12a in the next week. The sweet 83 over at the house is getting a new heart and then the 79sa.
