Cosmo swap in FC... Alternator pulley not lining up

Hey what's up guys...

I have a 13BRE Cosmo swap in my FC and I'm having issues with the alternator pulley lining up. What am I doing wrong? It's gotta be something stupid but I can't figure it out! I'm using the stock Cosmo front cover with the stock waterpump pulley, alternator pulley, and main engine pulley. An S5 FC waterpump housing, and an FD Alternator.

The waterpump pulley and the main engine pulley line up perfect but the alternator pulley is about 1/2" "recessed" so it's making the pulley twist going up which is putting no tension on the waterpump pulley.

It's kind of hard to see in the pic, but it's like the alternator is not far enough forward for them to line up.

I tried putting the stock cosmo alternator back on but the same thing.

Here you can see how it "looks" to not be far enough forward. But it's really not far enough forward.

This is how it's twisting the belt.

Move your alternator bracket spacer to the other side of the water pump housing.

You're talking about this right??

There's not one on there now. I know it's gotta be something retarded why these pullies won't line up! I'm beat... it's been a long day today. :/

That's the part...you have a Cosmo waterpump housing? It must be different...

When installing an FD alternator on my engine with cosmo pulleys I simply moved the spacer.

interesting...if it were me I'd be tempted to grind down the housing to let the alternator sit forward...that is if you want to use the cosmo pulleys.

This is so crazy! I had some gilmer pullies on it before and they lined up perfect. No issues at all. Does anyone see anything out of the ordinary? Am I putting it on wrong and just don't notice?

I switched to a Full Function Engineering kit that's not yet compatible with the gilmer pulley kit.

Very nice engine Rob! Did you have to grind down the housing?

I grinded down the part that I circled in the pic above, put a spacer on it and now the pullies line up perfect. Maybe a defect in that housing caused that issue?? I know before I spaced it out, I had to put the cosmo alternator charging post on the FD alternator because it was hitting the TPS. Now with it spaced and the pullies lined up, the stock FD charging post fits fine.
