Cosmo 13brew Conversion

I have a few questions about the Cosmo 13 brew. If at all possible, can this be done cheaply? And what would be the advantages and disadvatages to having a cosmo engine in my T2 vs stock? I know I will need engine mounts, haltech, Intercooler, Single turbo, Cast Manafold, new flywheel, And plan on using the 88 MOP. Does anyone have any insight on how to do this? Or am I just pissing in the wind?

how can you ask if it can be done cheaply if you know it needs all those parts? those parts are not cheap!! so I think you just answered your own question I think you would just be better off to put the haltech, FMIC, etc into your car. unless you really want a big project and you know what you are doing.

and besides after your last 10 or 20 posts I don't think you would get much help anyways, more of a banning.

The 13B-RE would be a better motor if you are going Haltech. The 13B-REW would be cool with the PFC though. Personally I like the Haltech better. The RE has the largest ports stock of any 13B made. Plus have you seen the intake on them? They make me drool everytime I see one!

My next step is to toss one into the Project 86 sometime this year.

I don't see any logic in it, but I must agree that the 13B Cosmo engine looks really cool in the FC (even better than the 20B IMO). Um, I don't see the PFC vs. Haltech reasoning, but to each his own.

On the EMS, I just meant that the PFC would be easy with the REW to install, but I personally like the Haltech better than the PFC. I like the RE look too

Why would the PFC be easier on a J-spec Cosmo engine?

I don't even know if it would work on the RE motor would it? I meant the PFC would be cool on the REW swap into the FC because it would be fairly simple to install. I have seen FD guys install them at meets in parking lots! I was saying that I would go with the Haltech if I were to do the RE, which I plan to do later this year =)

Oh, OK, I thought that maybe there was something special that I was missing out on. I think that you could install most of the common aftermarket ECU's quickly after you have installed them a couple of times in other cars.

I'll stick with the Wolf for ease of installation and tuning. I just wish that they would hurry up and send my freakin' V 4.0! Why are all the good ECU's made on the other side of the planet?

Hey, my post count just went past 1,000! Maybe I will have enough posts to qualify for a 13G pretty soon!

If you're asking, you can't afford it.&nbsp If youtry to get cheap with these engine swaps, it's going to bite you in the *** in the long run...

The Cosmo 13B is pretty much the same as the Series6 13B-REW, altho it has slightly larger exhaust ports IIRC.
Not worth the hassle according to my mechanic.
I mean, how much HP do you want?
Whatever you need, a 13BT is able to provide. Housings are cheaper, parts are more available, and you don't have to **** around re-engineering the engine mounts to house the fucken thing.

Unless you are in the "A" league, and really need to worry about extracting every last iota of performance, i would stick with the good old reliable 13BT. Just get it dowelled to be safe from a ping or two. Polished to look nice. Ported for some power, and slap on a T04E for above atmospheric pressured power.

My next engine was going to be a Cosmo 13B, until i woke up and smelt the coffee. a S5 block with low compression S4 rotors seems the way to go, so you can run lots of boost granny!

But then again, everything i've said is probably totally wrong. This is the Net afterall, and everything you read is prolly made up or unsubstantiated.

Suck an egg,
