Corksport Type II front bumper
Guys,
I'm thinking about getting a Corksport "Type II" front bumber. Anybody have one on their car I can see pics. of???? I've seen the pic. on their web site but i'd like to see it on a car if possible. Also...if anybody has this on their car...what is the fit / finish like?

Picture 7 and 8 is the result of a cat at about 60mph. Overall, the fit and finish of the nose is pretty good. It took some work to get the FTP and the turn signals to fit, but that is to be expected from an aftermarket nose.

Silver88gxl,
I really apprecitae the pics.
In the photos it looks like the spoiler buldges out from the fender on the passenger side and that it does not line up correctly with the front edge of that same fender....is this correct or does it just look that way in the pics.? Also...did you have to cut out those holes in the spoiler to make the bolts fit?
Honestly it does not looks like it fits very well...at least not what I was expecting (pretty much a straight bolt on).
Thanks for the help.

It looks pretty nice, alot like the Border front, but I'd have to agree with akageals that it looks like it doesn't fit very well, all the bolts aren't in the holes right, and some holes don't even have bolts, and where exactly is this front on their site? I couldn't find it, all I saw was the J-spec engines and shift ***** and Mazdaspeed stuff.

Infini,
Go to corksport.com, then click on rx7, then click exterior (if I remembered all that stuff right. I think that spoiler is a copy of the Border. I like the looks of it but i'm not going to get it if does not fit right.

Its dosn't look that bad, All aftermarket body parts have something that dosn't fit right its just how it is, it takes a little work to get it right but for the look its worth it. If you are missing a few bolts fill the holes in the bumper and paint over them so it looks like they were never there in the first place or fill and re drill the holes to line up right. I have only seen the Extreme kit for my step brothers CRX be a almost direct bolt on but even it had to have some stuff done.

It's hard to tell in the pictures but is image # 6 showing the bumper going over the fender or did you cut it? I know that you gotta roll the fenders out on the RE amemya (sp?) front ends and for the best fit cut the fender right below the molding.

all the holes don't line up because it's made for a 89-91 car. I think that bumber looks sweet and it's a good price for $400, cheaper then a stock turbo lip... let alone the bumber.

Yeah Scott, I agree....but I would not put it on my car if it fits the way it looks like it fits in the pic. above. That gap would look like crap on my otherwise perfect finish.

It is pretty much a straight bolt on, like I said, some holes had to be redrilled or enlargened. Plus, I had just put it on, and it is not permanetly mounted, since it will be comming back off soon to get the damage fixed.

It looks better than the car did before, and especially after it rolled into a tree. I really can't complain about it. Yes, it is not perfect, but for what you get and how much you pay, it isn't that bad.

Well you can't beat the price, thats for sure. Most the RE Amemiya, Knightsports, Border, etc. fronts are almost or over $2000! I guess because they are imported so they are rare but still
