cooling system inconveniences

I have been putting my 87 turbo back together piece by piece and I have noticed somthing really messed up.My radiator does not have a radiator cap.To make matters worse the kid who had it before me has an overflow type fitting on the filler neck which runs somewhere in the back of the intake manifold.need some assistance as i have searched high and low for any kind of diagram for this and it does not look right.Any help is appreciated.
