Coolant wont flow back out of overflow bottle

your radiator cap is faulty or the line going into the reservoir from the radiator is semi clogged with crap.

at least that is your problem, almost everyone else in this thread has a bad motor.

Ah, ok, thanks. Yeah, I put in some stop leak metal sealer when it started leaking (which turned out not to be a leak, but water pump failure). Guess there's some residual crap in there that I need to flush out.
