Coolant temp sensor question
89 s4 na
Alright, I had a malfunctioning tach and replaced my gauge cluster with one i had laying around.
Before this, I had a slight 'running hot' issue. The coolant temp gauge would go about half way. I have an E-fan (i didnt do it, I'm going to redo it soon), and had no tray. After not finding a tray I built a small one the size of the radiator and mounted it infront of the radiator. It seemed to do the job, the gauge stayed at the 1/4 mark. I drove it tonight after installing my TEIN springs and Tokico shocks. Parked it still at the 1/4 mark. Swapped out the gauge cluster and went for a drive again. This time the gauge went up to the 1/2 mark.
I searched the forum and couln't really come up with a solid answer. But how do i test a s4 coolant temp gauge to make sure the one I put in isn't faulty or the one i took out was.
I do not have a FSM... yet...
Oh yea, money is a major issue atm. I got laid off last week, hence why I had time to install my springs/shocks... ironic, i know.
