coolant leak behind thermostat housing help

hi guys, my car started leaking today and i thought it was coming from the thermostat housing gasket but there wasn't a leak around it, and i was able to see that the back of the thermostat housing was leaking but wasnt able to tell where it was coming from, what could be the culprit leaking behind the thermostat housing, i don't have time to work on the car bc i have finals, any help would be appreciated, the good thing is that the radiator is not bubbling up so the coolant seals are good

i have a 91 n/a

Water pump.
Either bad pump or bad gasket...if you're lucky.

i did a little search, and if its leaking from the back area of the housing then it might be the water pump housing pump or the water thermo sender behind the water pump, everything in the car is fine, but if the gasket has given out then i have to remove everything to fix it,

is it difficult to remove the water pump housing and install a new gasket?

No.

Do you have tools and a factory service manual? (The FSM for our cars are somewhere online, too... Maybe the FAQ section or something.) It isn't that necessary, though. It's a pretty straightforward task.

That was a half assed response, sorry...I was writing from the comfort of my desk instead of the 4° garage.
I went out and looked at my 91 NA and think it's most likely that it's the water hose that goes to your BAC and thermowax. I comes right off the back of the waterpump housing (which, BTW, isn't hard to remove but pay attention to the spacers) and is right next to the ECU's thermosensor.

If you remove the whole housing- and you may need to if the hose nipple is rotted out- it'd be a good time to examine that thermosensor and it's connector, as they are known to be fragile. The connector is like an injector connector with the wire retaining bail, so don't just yank on it.

oh i think your correct, i see the hose and its all wet and still leaking drips while just parked, it was difficult to see because of the wires on the way, i will change that and double check the sensor
