Coolant Guage HELP!

Coolant Guage HELP!
I've been experiencing my temperature gauge intermittently working and not working. On a cold start, it will slowly rise a little bit, but once the car is moving and warmed up, the temperature gauge drops as if it's disconnected.
I was thinking this could be a loose connection in speaking with Karack, but I have been unable to locate the sender for the gauge. I was instructed to look below the oil filter, around the oil pressure sender, but I was unable to find it. Does anybody have pics or a diagram of what I should be looking for? I tried the online FSM's and was unable to find anything under "Cooling" or "Engine Electrical"
I will be needing to drive my car 150 miles to have Rotary Evolution install my LT8s, and in 90 degree weather, it would make me incredibly uneasy to not have a functioning gauge. I know this is a total noob question, so please be easy on me.
Thanks in advance!
Jaime
