Coolant Confusion

Coolant Confusion
I decided to replace my coolant, but remembering what I read in this thread I decided to double check before putting in the generic Prestone that I've been using for years. I decided to just buy the Mazda FL-22 as discussed in the thread, but I thought I would check with the Mazda dealership. Yesterday I dropped by the dealership and they told me FL-22 was suitable for my FC (which makes sense, given that the ingredient list makes it look like a generic ethylene glycol coolant). On my drive home, they called me and told me to wait until they double checked with Mazda Canada as they were no longer sure whether that coolant was suitable.
Today they called me and told me that the coolant I am supposed to use is the Mazda Gold coolant, and that I should exchange my FL-22. I'm a bit skeptical of this, considering the FL-22 is also specified for the Rx8 and it is the traditional green color. I know it's a dye, but the ingredients also don't include anything unusual / exotic. I told them I'd drop by tomorrow to do the exchange, but I decided to get some second opinions since I'm fairly sure the FL-22 coolant is the one I should be using. I have yet to find an ingredient list for the Mazda Gold coolant, but it doesn't seem intuitive to me that a car designed for generic plain anti-freeze should suddenly be using the latest coolant from Mazda, rather than the traditional anti-freeze.
As of right now, I'm thinking I'll keep the FL-22 and run that. Thoughts?

I dont own an FC but the obvious answer is use what is in there now. I use FL22 in my FD and my 2013 CX5. The RX8 uses it and my MX3 and MX6 i use to have used it. I have really heard no word of the mazda gold anywhere on this site. Use FL22 and throw in a bottle of redline water wetter.
i looked at the gold and seems like the same thing but with a bittering agent to protect life and it is not premixed so you would need to add distilled water 50/50 Again i would stick with fl22

I agree, FL-22 seems like the right choice. Just thought I'd check before proceeding, since I don't want to be doing this job twice. I've also never heard of Gold in an Rx7, even though Mazda Canada seems to think that is the appropriate coolant.

I'm coming up snake eyes on this "Mazda Gold Coolant". According to this thread on "Bob is the oil guy"
https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forum..._green_coolant?
The 501E-02 that j9fd3s mentioned was Mazda's 1st generation P-OAT technology. FL22 is their 2nd generation P-OAT technology. Seems to me the FL22 will be fine. I'd almost feel better about it than the Mazda Gold I can find no information on if it were my car.

I'll be running the FL22.

Is the only difference between the green long life and the FL22 the fact that the FL22 is premixed 50/50?
