How would it be rigged up? Just buy an adaptor and cone filter and you should be fine.
Theres not much really of a way to work with different setups especially with the AFM position.

ok....for a cold air intake on these cars...you have to get out a saw/torch/something and cut metal to run the piping through. there isnt really a way around it unless maybe you set back the radiator? most people settle for a cold air box built around a filter. ive heard of one cold air intake sold for the rx7 which is like $300+ and a total ripoff.
cone filter intake kits are made by HKS/Apex'i/Bonez etc and are around $100-150.
for the cheapest route while using quality products, get a K&N filter with the right sized neck and a hose clamp and just stick it on your AFM. if you have your cats/airpump get a little breather filter for the airpump hose as well.

With the removal of my former Headlights and Motors, to make way for the EB Kit, I have a massive void there. I'm able to cut a hole In the wall (that seperates the back of the Headlight to the Engine Bay) and fit a custom 3' polished aluminum pipe with couplers that ends at the Brake Duct. I have all the parts right now but am waiting to Install.
Takahasi_Ryosuke/// I've searched myself and found no one makes these extensions except Checkpoint Engineering.

Little pricy for me. Besides I followed an alternative route to checkpoint. In terms of where the Filter Is going to end. http://www.checkpointmotors.net/Prod...ubcategoryid=1

shouldnt the engine see more air coming in... since this is all going thru the maf... and compensate for the increased air with more fuel...
or is the computer not that smart?

This Is turning out to be the exact same route as the previous thread, In regards to a Cold Air Intake, when I mentioned Checkpoint Engineering mentioned the use of TII Injectors were to be used for s5's.
Perhaps someone local to Chris can get more detailed Info pertaining to this subject or have him chime In on this subject!

i spoke with him (or someone else at checkpoint... but i think it was him) on the phone about a week or so ago, and he said that you either need to get an s-afc or something else to adjust the fuel, or just get the bigger injectors, because he said it starts leaning out....
although i had always thought that the s5's went rich when you did intake / exaust mods

The factory mixtures are already conservatively rich at full load. It makes no sense that the addition of a cold air pipe and filter, which would probably add less than 10hp, is suddenly going to cause the mixtures to go dangerously lean. Suggesting the VDI is the culprit for this is even stranger. There are plenty of S5 NA owners who have fitted pod filters and cold air intakes (similar end result) and none of them have posted about popped motors as a result.

I really think you'd save more money If you were to fab up the setup yourself as I did imo.

The only advantage that second one has is looks. The stock plastic pipe is huge, so there'd be no performance benfits. $300 is obscene for no gains. I also don't see an AFM...
