Convertible switch
hey i am thinking of getting a robbins cloth top to replace my original convertible vinyl top...anyone have experience with the cloth tops? advice on the subject? i wanna get a blue for my white vert.

Although I don't have personal experience with the cloth top, cloth is my replacement top of choice.
Considerably stronger and longer lasting than the cheap vinyl tops as well as improved noise deadening.
The Robbins sunfast Cloth is supposed to be more plyable in the sub 50F temps that you are not supposed to raise or lower the factory vinyl tops in as well.

I had the cloth top. It was on the car when I bought it and held up great for the 7 years I owned it.
I miss having cloth because I don't like losing the choice of raising/lowering the top when the temp drops below 41F.
The cloth top also looks nicer IMHO. It's only pitfall is keeping it clean. If you wash it with a wool mit, the wool hairs will cling to the fabric, so you have to use a soft bristled brush. You will need to do this as the cloth collects dirt. It gets a nice hint of yellow whenever pollen season rolls around.
