Connector in Door Behind Plastic?????

Ok Wiring Guru's:
I removed the Passenger side Door panle on my 86 GXL. Behind the clear plastic moisture shield is a 2 prongged connector. What is the purpose of this?
Pics later. Thank you for your time!

I'm guessing it's for the door lock cylinder. The little ring that lights up around the key hole.

Do the power locks work? I unplugged that plug replacing my outside door handle, but I can't remember what it was for.

Were illuminated door lock cylinders an option? Could be just an empty spot on the harness for a feature your car didn't come with... Man, I am so tempted to go take apart my door right now!

Ok, I couldn't resist....
First off, I have a '90 TII, and it looks as though our wiring harnesses may be a little different. But here's what mine looks like:

The first connector to the left also goes to the power window unit, and supplies power(I think).

The second connector in the middle which has black and blue wires coming FROM it go to the door lock cylinder light. This is the connector I think you are pointing your pliers at.

Finally, the third connector on the left, which has a Red and Green wire coming FROM it goes to the power windows, I am assuming it sends control signals(what the hell, I have a 50/50 shot at being right, right?).

I also checked further up the door near the front of the car, and found a few connectors that might be the one you were wondering about, it's either power locks, or a doorwoofer connection. I can post more detailed pics if you need them. I am fairly certain that I'm correct, but as I said in the beginning, our wiring harnesses look a little different, so I could be totally wrong. Hope this helps!

Steve

P.S. I also just noticed that the door cylinder light connector is mounted in pretty much the EXACT same spot the connector you're talking about is... I am thus further convinced!
