ok i am lost and starting to get very very aggitated.... i got my rx-7 knowing i would have to get the transmission fixed but at the time it wasnt a big deal to me.... i took it to a place that said htey could fix the transmission and they did, it lasted for about 2 weeks and the trani crapped out again... they fixed it again as they thought, that time it lasted 2 days.... i got it back for the 3rd time and it lasted id say its been about a month now maybe a little more and i juswt lost reverse, it doesnt shift (its an automatic by the way), and i here a metal on metal sound and cant tell exactly where its coming from... Now evertime my transmission was about to go out for some reason i would lose my speedometer 1st then the transmission would follow... this time the as usual it happened again... do any of you know or have some idea as to wether it is something they are doing wrong all the time... or if it might be something outside the transmission causing it to have problems all the time... cause they swear they did everything right... and i havnt even been running the car hard let alone doing burnouts or anything else (which is unusual for me as it is) i just want my car back and they nor i can seem to figure out why it keeps going out... it goes in monday morning back to them and i am sure they will be thrilled to see it again... please let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions they would be very helpfull

auto trannies suck... it sounds like you would be much better off doint a AT to MT swap... the manual trannies are so much better unless you dont like shifting, as far as whats wrong with yours i dont have any idea... sounds like this shop is not doing a great job... i mean 3 times... they are overlooking something thats causing it to crap out

I would have to say the samething some shops cant rebuild auto's right on some trannys you need to balance some parts and i dont know about autos on rx7s but at the shop I work at we hade the same problem you might just be better off calling up mazda and getting one from them.
